Is there a benefit to giving saved play pages a custom extension (.ph)? I tried to DND one into a P7 image and it failed because there is no handler for that extension, even thought it's "just code"...

It shouldn't; be too hard to register .ph as a recognised Pharo code extension similar to .st
Als, maybe it is an idea to change the D&D handler to act differently when it does not recognise an extension, as in asking what do you want to do, open it as text/workspace or inspect ir ?
