Abstract
Most of the two billion children in developing countries have unsufficient access to education. The non-profit "One Laptop per Child" project is working on a learning machine, a cheap, networked computer with software to support "learning to learn" for every child. One of its software components is "Etoys", a tile-based authoring environment written on top of Squeak. The talk will present the OLPC project, its current state of development in general and the progress on Etoys in particular.
