Hi,
It took a while but I have an example of a system complexity
visualization with
Protovis (The example is in the attachments). If you
agree I'm going to implement this function in Mondrian as an export feature.

Yes. A new exporter. This should not much work. Have a look at the method
exportAsSVG and class MOEaselCommandSVGExporter.

Open a Mondrian easel, you have an example 'system complexity'. It
contains the following code:

This is the simplest graphical visualization. Try to generate it as
protovis
code.
Then, we will have to deal with the nesting:

First,
start with a system complexity. Then, add labels and popup. Handling
interaction will be important. I feel this cannot be effectively done
without being behind a seaside server.
