How can I make the figure resizable with the text arranging accordingly (i.e. going on

I would like to have the following feature in Mondrian: when the
user clicks on the main canvas, a text box (a rectangle figure)
appears and the user can write in it and move it around.
Is this doable with a script or should I work with the canvas class?
Any hint on where should I look at to implement it is appreciated.
