Wishes for GTPlayground - Part II

It would be great to have a default view. If I open a playground, and type: | v s | v := RTView new. s := String newFrom: ($A to: $Z), ($a to: $z), ($0 to: $9). v add: (RTLabel elementOn: s). v Cmd-o, then I have the tab ‘State’ selected. Obviously, I want to have ‘View’ How can tab be added? GTPlayground

Hi! Now I am back from holidays, I am catching up with what happens during that February. My first surprise is GTPlayground, packaged with the Moose image. This is really cool stuff. I have never thought that the workspace could be such a primitive tool. GTPlayground greatly enhances my workflow when I am in a workspace. Managing variables is still missing apparently, but this is clearly a great match with my dream of a cool Pharo. [ANN] FAST Graphic Displayer

Hello everyone, I am developing a API to do some searches and transformations on FAST. To displaying the FAST AST, I created a tool using Roassal. You can download it by doing : Gofer new smalltalkhubUser: 'VincentBlondeau' project: 'FAST-Refactoring'; package: 'FAST-Displaying'; load. You can use the tool on a method or a part of a method (ie a FASTEntity) by generating the FAST models (in a FAST image, right click on a moose model -> FAST -> generate FAST), and doing, for example : FASTERDisplay display: MooseModel root first allMethods first Moreover, I would like to extend this tool to FAMIX and display the moose model like a forest (group of tree). For this displaying, I need the children of an entity and its parent. I found in the MooseModel the functions : children and belongsTo. Are they dedicated functions for this kind of purpose ? Because some don't seem to return the right objects like FAMIXPackage>>children that returning only children Packages and not children packages and classes. minimap in Glamour-Roassal

Hello, I am trying to create a roassal minimap in a glamour browser. But I do not get a minimap when pressing m key. It might be something to do with how keystrokes are interpreted in Glamour. can you have a look? In 2014, VISSOFT will again be co-located with ICSME in Victoria, BC, Canada. Software Visualization is a broad research area encompassing techniques that assist in a range of software engineering activities, such as, specification, design, programming, testing, maintenance, reverse engineering and reengineering. Covered methods contain the development and evaluation of approaches for visually analyzing software and software systems, including their structure, execution behavior, and evolution. In this conference, we focus on visualization techniques that target aspects of software maintenance and evolution, program comprehension, reverse engineering, and reengineering, i.e., how visualization helps programmers to understand, analyze, and evolve software. Roassal: double click?

Good Moose Dojo

Hi, We (part of the Rmod Inria team from Lille) worked quite well this afternoon during the Moose dojo: - we closed 7 bugs - we corrected more than 120 warnings thanks to APIEvolutioner (from Andre Hora), SmallLint and CriticsBrowser - we migrated the graphics of Ozone to Pharo 3.0 using APIEvolutioner without knowing anything on Glamour, Mondrian and Roassal just looking how the different API evolved. - we started to migrate Torch to Pharo 3.0 but it is not yet finished (at all). And it seems that we didn't brake everything while fixing the rest ;o) So thanks to everyone. Next Moose Dojo in Lille is in March 7th. Anne

1022 - OSProcess now loading from MetaRepoForPharo30

The baseline 5.0 in Moose is changed to load OSProcess from MetaRepoForPharo30 thus correcting the bug 1022. Apparently, the loading of OSProcess was causing the moose build to fail. Now the build is unstable because of some previous bugs. We'll close the bug. regards, Usman and Anne

slice for issue 989

We modified Glamour to correctly manage the exception and not launch the debugger when the message sent is not supported. Doru, can you please have a look and integrate our change? gtplayground

Hi, I worked a bit on different implementation for the workspace, and the result can be found in the GTPlayground. It has two distinct features: 1. It is essentially an inspector. So, if you press Cmd+o, you start the regular inspector. This means that you can easily use it as an easel or an editor. For example, attached you can see how to use it to simulate a Roassal2 Easel for it. [image: Inline image 1] Of course, you can spawn multiple columns to the right just like in the normal inspector. 2. It offers versioning. As soon as you close a playground, the code is stored and you can retrieve it from the dropdown menu from the top right. You can find it in the Moose image. At this point it is not installed by default because it still requires you to define the variables (so the neat functionality of defining variables dynamically from the default workspace is not yet available).
