Hi, I am improving the Dashboard of Synectique and I see that GLMDashboard use extents in order to build a browser. I was thinking of removing this and use layout instead. Using layout we would have more freedom and we would not have any problem with the resizing of the window that can let grey area for now. This will not be backward compatible so I prefer ask to the mailing list if someone is against this change. Force Base Layout is now 33 faster (in some cases)

Hi! I have found a nasty situation that may occurs when using composite shapes. RTOptimizedForceBasedLayout new "doNotUseProgressBar;" on: b view elements. b view] timeToRun 0:00:00:00.387 Yes, on this example, the class RTOptimizedForceBasedLayout is 33 faster than the traditional layout. The problem is that translating a composite shape is much slower than translating a non-composite shape. I have created mock elements and mock edges. Matrix Sunburst: Labelled arcs

Hi, Some time ago I asked about how to make some kind of matrix sunburst, like the one on [1]. Thanks to the help of the community, specially Milton we're almost there. GTInspector Browse icon (the pencil) is misleading

Hi, I think that the pencil icon in the GTInspector does not describe well the intention of the action, and, I always confuse with the magnifier. I propose to use the System Browser icon of the World menu instead of the pencil icon. What do you think ? Finding in a roassal view

GTDebugger not draggable with latest VM

Hi, I have a problem on the latest Moose6.0 image. I was not able to open a Roassal view, I had a NativeBoost Generic failure... So I updated the VM to last stable, and, now, the GTdebugger and the Moose panel are not draggable anymore... Can somebody is able to reproduce the problem? showing a diff on #assert:equals:

Hi, I updated GTDebugger to automatically show a diff in the debugger when an #assert:equals: fails. For example if you execute '(GTSUnitExampleFailingTest selector: #testMultiValuedStreaming) debug.' you get the debugger below. Also works when running tests from Nautilus/TestRunner. MacroRecorder available in Pharo

The current version runs in Pharo 5 and there is an old version running in Pharo 4. To show how this tool works, I prepared a quick demo video. broken Roassal2Spec Adapter

Hi, apparently we broke MorphicRoassalAdapter when cleaning Spec, I attached a fix. However my question is - does anybody (except us) actually use the Roassal2Spec package? Because otherwise we could clean it a bit. For example I'm not sure of the use case of script:/lastEvent:. Peter

Glamour fixes for Pharo 4.0

Hi, According to what was agreed, the fixes for stable version of Moose 5.1 should be committed into the repository created for this purpose (Moose/Moose51) and they should not go in the main repo (moose/Glamour). Unfortunately, some fixes have been committed in the principal repository for fixing issue # 1126, which deviates from the agreed conventions and creates a parallel versions. The principal repository (Moose/Glamour) handles the development commits, the fixes for Moose version XY go to Moose/MooseXY and the stable version of the configuration loading the packages is updated (e.g., see 3.1.3-Moose51 in ConfigOfGlamourCore). [image: Inline image 1] In addition, the fixes should be referenced in the proper configuration dedicated for the fixed packages. Glamour-Morphic-Renderer is loaded by ConfigurationOfGlamourCore so ideally the fixes should have been loaded in the stable version of the config. The fixes are loaded by ConfigurationOfMagritteGlamourForPharo40 and it becomes very difficult to trace the origin of the package in the image. Thank you for adhering to what was agreed on the mailing list. Moreover, the fix creates an issue with embedding EditableDropListMorph in Tabulators but we will only be able to correct the error once we have resolved the problem of parallel commits and correctly loading them. regards.

Hi! If I inspect a compile method, I have a tab showing the source code. But I cannot modify the source code of it (well, it does not compile). Is there a way to edit compile method within the GTInspector? Maybe using Ring? Stack visualizations

Matrix sunburst: increasing the separation between arcs

Hi, Pair programming with Milton at Smalltalks 2015, we (well mostly he) came with what I call a "matrix sunburst" that shows a sunburst diagram using a matrix instead of a tree as data source (the clever hack of Milton was to convert the data in the matrix to a tree with only one child on any branch after the first one!). The inspiration was taken from [1] and the idea was from a friend who want to use this kind of matrix alike sunburst to compare public medicine information. [1] http://www.theguardian.com/world/interactive/2012/may/08/gay-rights-united-… With this I can create thinks like this: But to get a more readable visualization, I would like to make two things: a. Increase the empty space between arcs, not like the current radial strategy, but more like the graphic at [1]. For this we thought in adding a RTEdge with the same color as the background. How can I calculate the position of every RTEdge at the final of each arch in the sunburst? b. I would like to keep each ring of the same size instead of making them narrower as the become more away of the center. It this possible? c. Finally I have created RTSunburstBuilder>>exploreMatrix: aMatrix coloredWith: aColorPalette in my own image, because I think that is the best place it can be to be reused in my own visualizations. Is this a good practice? Can I share this code back with the Roassal project? How? (hopefully I will not need to learn git and its gratituous complexity). Cheers, Offray
