To all: please use the new mailing list
sattose@list.info.unibe.ch<mailto:sattose@list.info.unibe.ch> from now on. This new
mailing list is hosted at SCG in Bern and run by Oscar and me. All addresses from the old
mailing list have been moved (and some corrected) to the new mailing list, so you should
also have received this mail and the call for papers and participation via the new list.
(If not, let me know and I’ll add your address to the new list.)
For the record, the old and now obsolete mailing list was
sattose@listes.uclouvain.be<mailto:sattose@listes.uclouvain.be> , the new one is
sattose@list.inf.unibe.ch<mailto:sattose@list.inf.unibe.ch>
Friendly greetings,

Call for Papers
Ninth Seminar on Advanced Techniques & Tools for Software Evolution
SATToSE 2016
11–13 July 2016 – Bergen (Norway)
http://sattose.org/2016
------------------------------------------------------------------------
OVERVIEW
SATToSE is the Seminar Series on Advanced Techniques & Tools for Software
Evolution. Its 9th edition takes place in Bergen, Norway, between Monday 11
and Wednesday 13 July 2016.
The goal of SATToSE is to gather both undergraduate and graduate students
to showcase their research, exchange ideas, improve their communication
skills, attend and contribute technology showdown and hackathons – and to
interact with senior members of the research community.
SATToSE will host invited talks, submitted talks, tutorials and a
hackathon, and will foster interactions among the participants, stimulating
lively debates and discussions around the topics of interest of the event.
We expect attendees to be active participants and not just passive
listeners – presenters should be open to and encourage questions and
discussions during their talks.
TOPICS
Contributions are solicited on all aspects of software and model evolution,
practices and technologies. In particular, we encourage submissions about
the following (non-exhaustive) list of topics:
* Formalisms, notations, theories, methods, and languages for expressing
software evolution
* Supporting tools, processes, and models for managing software evolution
* Industrial needs, case studies and experiences
* Software analytics and visualisation techniques to support software
evolution
* Empirical studies in evolution and maintenance
* Program transformation, refactoring, renovation and migration
* Program and/or data reverse engineering
* Evolution of data-intensive or process-intensive systems
* Approaches of model-driven software evolution
* Conformance checking, inconsistency management, synchronisation,
differencing, comparison, versioning, impact analysis of evolving models
* Software evolution for emerging paradigms
* Coupled evolution of meta-models, models and transformations
* Mega-modelling evolution, and evolution of mega-models
* Classification of (co-)evolution scenarios
* Reliability and security aspects of software (co-)evolution
* Negative research results in software evolution
* Software ecosystem evolution
INVITED SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
* Venera Ardounova, Washington State University
* Oscar Nierstrasz, University of Bern
* Romain Robbes, University of Chile
* Gregorio Robles, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos
* Aiko Yamashita, Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences
HACKATHON
This year's hackaton will expose participants to tools, methods and data
obtained with the MetricsGrimoire toolset, a mature, industrial-strength
toolset to obtain data from software repositories, that is available as
free software/open source and developed together with a lively community.
The Metrics-Grimoire toolset is the results of over a decade of
development, and since 2013, after the creation of Bitergia, the
technological basis of a start-up that offers and sells results and
analysis to free/open source software companies and communities.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Contributions are managed through EasyChair
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sattose2016
We solicit extended abstracts of 2–5 pages, in one of the following forms:
* work in progress presentations – early ideas and achievements that you
want to share with the community and get feedback on
* publication summaries – overview of research results already published or
ready to be submitted to a conference or a journal
* technology showdown demonstrations – technical explanation of important
features of your framework, library or tool
To submit your contribution, you need to specify:
* title of the presentation
* list of author(s)
* extended abstract of your presentation
* desired category of your work
Contributions should be formatted in the CEUR WS one column style with page
numbers. See
http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/samplestyles/.
All submissions will be screened for scope and compatibility by the program
committee, which will provide feedback for improving the abstract and
preparing the talk. All contributions accepted for presentation will
receive 10–30 minutes during the event for presentation and
discussion. Submitters will also be offered the opportunity to receive
feedback and guidance to improve their submission towards a formally
published paper, in a SATToSE post-proceedings issue of an open access
journal.
All the presented slides and pointers to related resources will be
collected and will be made available.
