Open PhD position on "team interaction in open source software ecosystems”

As part of the prestigious Belgian "Excellence of Science" research project SECO-ASSIST (see https://secoassist.github.io) we have an open PhD position at the Software Engineering Lab of the University of Mons (Belgium), conveniently located close to Brussels (Belgium) and Lille (France).
The goal of the PhD is to explore new recommendation techniques to attract newcomers and retain contributors in software ecosystems, identifying “toxic” team members, predict future abandonment, and find adequate replacements.

The position is available immediately for a period of up to 4 years with the aim to obtain a PhD degree. Candidates should be eligible for starting a PhD in Computer Sciences (they should have a Master or Engineering degree or equivalent) and are expected to complete their PhD during the project period. The candidates should have a clear interest in open source software development. Practical programming experience is required, and (practical) knowledge of statistical analysis is a plus. Motivated students that are currently finishing their second year of Master are encouraged to apply.

SATToSE 2017 Post-Proceedings are published

Dear all,
I'm glad to finally announce that the post-proceedings of SATToSE 2017 are
now published (http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-2070/).
Out of seven participants who expressed interest in the post-proceedings,
only five came through. Luckily, that was enough to meet the required
minimum number of articles in a CEUR volume.
Congrats to the authors and good luck to all of you at SATToSE 2018.

ICSME welcomes innovative ideas that are timely, well presented and evaluated. All submissions must position themselves within the existing literature, describe the relevance of the results to specific software engineering goals, and include a clear motivation and presentation of the work.
To establish a consistent set of expectations in the review process, the authors are asked, as part of the online submission process, to identify their papers with one or more of the following categories:
- Analytical
- Empirical
- Technological
- Methodological
- Perspectives
TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS
All papers should be full papers, and papers may belong to more than one category. Note that papers from any research area can fall into any of these categories, as the categories are constructed surrounding methodological approaches, not research topics (e.g., one could write an analytical paper on a new analysis technique, an empirical paper that compares a broad range of such techniques, a technological paper that makes an analysis technique practically feasible and available, or a perspectives paper that reviews the state of the art and lays out a roadmap of analysis techniques for the future).

Experiences from practitioners provide crucial input into future research directions and allow others to learn from successes and failures.

Our overall goal is to help the next generation of ICSME researchers form connections and gain advice on their proposed areas of research. The three tracks will meet together for the day to enable multi-level peer mentoring as more senior students and junior researchers reflect on their experiences during their PhD studies.
