Three-years Research Fellow position (RTD) at the Free University of
Bozen-Bolzano, Italy.
An RTD is the equivalent of an Assistant Professor position (fixed term,
renewable) in the Italian system. The position includes the possibility to
apply for funding, and a light teaching load (60 hours/year). Teaching is
held in English. A Ph.D. is required.
Areas of interest: Mining Software Repositories, Software Maintenance and
Evolution, and Empirical Software Engineering.

Salary is competitive and starts at 42,000 Euro gross per year, to which
can be added bonuses based on academic performance, additional teaching,
and linguistic competencies for a maximum of 66,000 Euro gross per year. A
tax benefit may be provided to researchers coming from abroad.
Additional personal fund for traveling (2000 Euro per year) is also offered
on top of the salary, and annual university calls for research funding
dedicated to RTDs can also support the researcher for travelling and
research collaborations.

Bolzano is the capital of Alto Adige/Südtirol, an autonomous and bilingual
(German-Italian) region of northern Italy, bordering Austria and
Switzerland. Bolzano regularly tops the rankings of quality of life among
Italian cities. The university of Bolzano is situated in the very lively
city center of Bolzano: the main train station is 6 min walking distance
from the university. The city is surrounded by the Dolomites mountains,
reachable in 30 min by train, bus, or by car.
