Dear all,
At ICSME, several people suggested organizing the next edition of SATTOSE in Salerno.
I know that SATTOSE has not been around for a while. However, now that covid seems under control, we could revamp it!
I talked to my colleagues in Salerno and Kim Mens, who agreed that we could do it; therefore, I would like to verify your interest.
We want to host SATTOSE during the week of our international summer school on software engineering (i.e., 12th and 16th of June, 2023).
The idea is to have something similar to SATTOSE 2019 in Bolzano with some events in conjunction.
For example, we could have one or two talks from SATTOSE people as part of our summer school to bind the two events.
The venue will be the University of Salerno's computer science department, located a few kilometers from Salerno, at the junction of motorway intersections.
More details at https://web.unisa.it/en/home.
The best way to reach the campus from abroad is first to go to Salerno.
The nearest International Airport is Naples Capodichino (code NAP).
You can take a bus (Alibus) from the airport to the central station in Naples and get off here for connections to Salerno through high-speed and traditional train services.
From Salerno, frequent buses connect the city to the university.
Salerno is located about 60 km south of Naples and is considered a gateway to the Amalfi Coast.
It has a lot to offer, from a medieval city center that takes you back to its ancient and prestigious origins to a seafront with modern and avant-garde architecture.
Please let us know what you think by filling out the following form: https://forms.gle/i5sRMJdTrAi4uzbb6 .
Best regards,
Dario

Hello all,
If you were planning to present and submit something to BENEVOL 2022 but did not have the time, it may be useful to know that the deadline has been extended until Tuesday June 21. Please keep your submissions coming!
We accept either 4+1 technical papers or 1 page presentation abstracts. See

Hello software evolution afficionados!
You probably already noticed that our annual BENEVOL seminar is back in town! Check out the website on benevol2022.github.io and the @BenevolWorkshop twitter account for the latest updates. Submission deadline is 15 June 2022.
After having consulted the informal steering committee, we decided to move BENEVOL much earlier than usual, on 12-13 september already rather than the usual late november-early december... This decision was motivated by our desire to meet in live, and this is much more likely to happen in september than in november. (Remember that last year the live benevol had to be converted into a virtual one last minute due to incread corona restrictions.)
We realise that this implies that the submission deadline is much earlier than usual, but on the other hand, the submission requirements are lightweight. You can submit short papers of work in progress (that can be published in the benevol postproceedings in CEUR), or even decide to submit a presentation abstract of some work that you have submitted or published elsewhere recently (in a conference or journal) and that you would like to share with, and get feedback from, our local software community. I am sure that you have something up your sleeve that would be of interest to our community!
And I almost forgot to mention that we have a great team of PC chairs, Eleni Constantinou and Mairieli Wessel that will take care of the technical programme. PhD students Natarajan and Pooya are helping out with the website and social media.
Contact anyone of us if you should have more comments about the event.

21st Belgium-Netherlands Software Evolution Workshop
https://benevol2022.github.io/
Mons, Belgium
12-13 September 2022
Overview:
The goal of BENEVOL is to bring together researchers who are working in the field of software evolution and maintenance. BENEVOL offers an informal forum to meet and to discuss new ideas, important problems and obtained research results
The 21st edition of BENEVOL will be held in Mons on September 12-13, 2022; this is the first in-person edition of BENEVOL since Covid-19. The organizing team is looking forward to meeting once again in person and having fruitful discussions during BENEVOL!
Call for Papers:
Contributions are solicited on all aspects of software maintenance and evolution.
BENEVOL accepts submissions in two categories:
Technical papers (max 4 pages main text + 1 page of references) will undergo a mild yet constructive review. We explicitly solicit papers in the early stages of research, which are still rather rough around the edges and would benefit from feedback from the community. Technical papers will be reviewed by at least three members of the program committee, assessing whether they are within the scope of BENEVOL (i.e., software maintenance and evolution) and meet its quality criteria. Authors will be asked to improve their paper and submit a camera ready version that will be published in the CEUR-WS.org workshop proceedings.
Presentation abstracts (max 1 page) report on research results without inclusion in the proceedings. They will only be reviewed for relevance and they will be made available on the website of the workshop. Presentation abstracts can either be novel research results that should not be included in the proceedings or results that have already been published, or that are ready to be submitted to a conference or a journal. Of particular interest are summaries that try to provoke discussion, initiate challenging new avenues, etc.
More information about the submission guidelines can be found on the BENEVOL website https://benevol2022.github.io/
Important Dates:
Submission deadline: June 15, 2022

At the Department of Computer Science of University of Mons (Belgium) we have an open PhD position on a new research project on "ML4SECO: Predictive Health Modelling of Evolving Software Packaging Ecosystems". This project will start in 2021 and bring together recent developments in machine learning, software evolution and open source software ecosystems. The project aims to develop prediction, simulation and discovery models to analyse and predict the health of evolving open source ecosystems and their constituent software components. The project will be conducted at the Department of Computer Science<http://informatique.umons.ac.be> of the University of Mons<https://web.umons.ac.be/en/>, lead by Tom Mens<https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=5RJe8dsAAAAJ&view_op=list_w…> (Full Professor, Software Engineering Lab) and Souhaib Ben Taieb<http://souhaib-bentaieb.com/> (Associate Professor, Big Data and Machine Learning Lab). Belgium is centrally located in Europe, and the labs are well-connected to other research teams worldwide.
