Of course the data is not jailed inside an image. There are many different serialization techniques available, basically you can use any of those to serialize the kernel and load it into a new image. ReferenceStreams that come with every image are a fairly good choice. However it is currently not a thing of a few clicks, it takes some time and patience. It could be that block contexts are in your model, and that your serialization framework of choice chokes on those. Usually it is not a problem to skip these and just serialize them as nil values.
