I like the proposed changes. I've run into all those problems that would
be fixed. The pragma usage is something I'll have to get used to.
It's not clear whether your plan is to start with the Magritte2 code
base, and create, say, a Magritte3. Or is it to make the changes
directly to the Magritte2 code base. Changing Magritte2 directly would
mean one less branch to be maintained. Either way is fine with me.
