I just did a re-install on Seaside & Pier into a
clean image. This
time, I took a little time and browsed a few of the packages
first. I came across OmniBrowser. This looked interesting, so I
installed it. Then, when I installed Pier, a PierBrowser opened.
This had not happened before. Did I miss something in the docs
saying that OmniBrowser was something Pier interacted with, and to
install it beforehand? Am I correct in the connection?
Yep, the Pier package on SqueakMap installs an extra package called
Pier-OmniBrowser, if you have OmniBrowser installed in your image.
The Pier-OmniBrowser package is used as just another view (to the
default one using Seaside) on top of Pier model. Thanks to the power
of Magritte this required only very few code and is almost as
powerful as its Seaside counterpart. There is still a lot to improve,
especially the Magritte-to-Morphic part is quite weak; I just put in
there what is absolutely needed to run the Pier command pattern
automatically.
A nice thing that I just added recently is the syntax-highlighting of
the wiki-source, also featuring clickable links; however there are
still some major problems in that area, especially updating the
selection and the lists in OmniBrowser doesn't work.
Cheers,
Lukas
