that's a bug.

Please try Pier-Seaside-lr.346, that should fix the problem and bring
another notable performance improvement for all Apache-Pier users.
Make sure to upgrade to Seaside2.8a1-lr.584 as well, older versions
might show a bug with this Pier update.
