Now I wonder if there is a way to send a parameter to this +value:toc+  so that to limit the automated index.
For example, do something like this:    +value:toc|limit=1+
and this only render a index with !

+value:toc|limit=2+

only renders titles with ! and !!

and so on...

would this be useful ?

I would use CSS to make the '!' titles smaller and stick with '!' as
primary title, '!!' as secondary title, etc. This also makes sure that
you have semantically valid HTML.
