Dear all, anyone who did supervise a seminar/thesis in fall semester 2024/25: Could you please send me a slide (or two), similar to the one attached, of your project(s). Doesn't have to be comprehensive, but I'd like to show some of the recently completed student projects in the seminar on Tuesday morning. Deadline if I shall include yours: Tuesday 9:00. (please just use my ppt as a template, if possible, so I can directly include the slide) Best, Timo

Friendly Reminder: Updating Seminar Topics

Dear all This is to remind you that today is the deadline for inserting new seminar topics and updating existing ones in the GitLab. Please make sure that your topics are up to date INCLUDING information about any assigned students. Roman B. and I reorganised the overview page, thereby including new instructions. Use it as a reference. Also, please make sure that your actual topic files follow the template structure and use proper formatting. I noticed that some of you include HTML in your topic files - please refrain from doing so and use plain Markdown. These files go into the website code as Markdown files, and I don't want to sanitise all the files beforehand to clear out HTML tags and unnecessary whitespace. Also please check your files for typos 🙂 Thank you all for your collaboration. Best Yael

Thanks! Best Carolin Hi everybody As part of the 15th Action Week against Racism of the City of Bern, I organized three workshops on the topic of racism and racist hate speech in university context. Two workshops are aimed specifically at students and university lecturers and staff members of Colour and those who experienced racism.In this empowerment-workshops, a safer and braver space will be created in which experiences and concerns as well as perspectives and visions for a racism-free university will be exchanged and developed. We will empower each other and work together to develop strategies for overcoming experiences of racism and racist hate speech. These workshops for students and staff members will be held in English. The third workshop is open to all members of the university and serves as a space for reflection on the topics of individual, structural and institutional racism and exclusion in education. We will reflect on often unconscious discriminatory and racist mechanisms and develop possible courses of action. This workshop will be held in German.
