Do you mean setting the selection on an item which is supposed to be non-visible (because it's collapsed)?
I don't have the method explicitSelection: method in a Pharo3 image. What does it do?
At the moment, what I have to do when selecting an item in a tree (especially if the tree is collapsed) is:
- expandItemPath (with all the nodes in the item path)
- adjustSubmorphsPositions
- scrollSelectionIntoView

more about that bug? I'm using MorphTreeMorph extensively, and never
encountered it, but I know PackageTreeNautilus encountered it and
got a fix for that a short while ago.
