Based on the recent feedback, one thing that I managed to distill is that people do not see a couple of widgets:

- text/input fields

- drop downs

As a consequence, now I added a thin border around them. I am not particularly satisfied because it looks ugly when we have also splitters, but please let me know if this helps now.
