Ok, but some examples take time to render (e.g., some are fetching data from the web).
We can always generate the thumbnail on the fly, but this slow the image.

It makes loading and saving a bit slow. Having larger pictures will increase the problem.

That is a good question :). They are saved as images for now, and those images are really tiny. This should be improved.
